Basement Conversions

A dry cellar or basement is an asset to any home and can be put to virtually any use that above-ground living space can be used for. Popular uses for cellars and basements include; Kitchens, Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Living Rooms, Play Rooms, Home Cinemas, Recording Studios or Wine Cellars.

Whichever use you choose for your cellar or basement it is likely that it will need to be made dry enough for habitation. Most existing cellars were built in Victorian times and were never intended to be lived in, so adequate waterproofing was rarely included. For new-build projects, basements are covered by Part C of the UK Building Regulations which requires that provisions are made to prevent dampness from entering into buildings.
